Television's most famous beach is preparing to reopen its doors. Baywatch will return with a new series from Fox Broadcasting Company, slated for January 2027, banking on a formula that combines nostalgia and popular social media personalities.

The project will revolve around Hobie Buchannon, son of the iconic Mitch, played by Stephen Amell. The former Arrow star will take on the role of the new Baywatch captain, forced to manage beach emergencies and family problems after the sudden return of his daughter Charlie.

Fox Bets on Young Stars and Historic Returns

The first official image released by Fox primarily highlights the younger cast, a clear sign of its desire to attract a new generation of viewers. Alongside already known television actors like Shay Mitchell, popular influencers such as Noah Beck and Livvy Dunne will appear. However, a direct link to the original series will not be missing: Erika Eleniak and David Chokachi will also return.

After the failure of the 2017 film starring Dwayne Johnson, Fox seems intent on bringing Baywatch back to where it became a global phenomenon: television.
