The first season of the Assassin’s Creed television series produced by Netflix is nearing the conclusion of filming. Production is currently underway in Rome, where a reconstruction of the Roman Empire dating back to 64 AD is taking shape, a historical period largely unexplored by Ubisoft's beloved video game saga until now.

The French software house itself confirmed the progress of the work, sharing a photograph from the set without revealing the appearance of the protagonists or showing significant details of the set design. Cinecittà Studios represent the main operational base for the production.

Nero against the backdrop of a millennial war

The story will be set during the reign of Nero, in the year of the Great Fire of Rome. At the heart of the narrative will be the clash between Assassins and Templars, organizations opposed by a radically different vision for the future of humanity.

The cast includes Toby Wallace, Lola Petticrew, Noomi Rapace, Sean Harris, and Claes Bang. Leading the creative team are Roberto Patino and David Wiener, previously involved in Westworld and Halo, respectively. The soundtrack will be composed by Hannah Peel. Still without a debut date, the series will soon face what we imagine will be a “heavy” post-production phase.
