A Nintendo Direct Coming? Mario's Birthday
According to insiders, it would be a "big" event
The most recent Nintendo Direct went online on August 19: it was a specific event focused on Kirby Air Riders, for which we remind you of our Summary. Recently, Nintendo has made a habit of using this communication window to focus on one title at a time: it did the same with Mario Kart World, with Pokémon Legends Z-A, and with Donkey Kong Bananza, while the work of Nintendo Partners was last shown at the end of July.
It has been quite some time since the Kyoto-based company offered a big, fat Nintendo Direct with new game announcements, but according to the usual insiders, a surprise one might arrive this week. The Rumor comes from SwitchForce, according to whom the established date would be September 12, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Super Mario Bros., which debuted on the NES console in Japan on September 13, 1985.
Nintendo: Mario and Beyond Mario
Indeed, since the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 console, there has been little news about various brands that fans undoubtedly expect: not only a new game starring the mustachioed plumber [Mario Kart World is not the same thing], but for starters, a new The Legend of Zelda, as well as Animal Crossing, Super Smash Bros., or Splatoon.
Juicy announcements could also come from third parties: according to ResetEra, for example, Capcom would be about to bring all the Biohazard titles made with the RE Engine to the hybrid console, namely Resident Evil VII, Resident Evil VIII, and the anticipated Resident Evil Requiem.
Obviously, all this news should be taken with a grain of salt: Nintendo could do the opposite of everything, but with the Tokyo Game Show arriving on September 25, it's undeniable that something could be fed to the public.
We'll see...
