007 Will Have More Games After First Light, Produced by Amazon
It's not certain that IO Interactive will be the developer of future projects

007 First Light marked the grand return of James Bond to the world of video games. This title was warmly received by both the public, with sales exceeding one and a half million copies in just 24 hours, and critics, including Gamesurf. The success of the operation certainly did not go unnoticed by Amazon, which holds the franchise rights.
The James Bond Franchise Rights
Amazon obtained the rights to James Bond after acquiring the film studio Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and reaching an agreement with the films' historical producers, Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson. However, IO Interactive, the developer of 007 First Light, had stipulated an agreement for the game before Amazon entered the scene, which is why the e-commerce giant could not take the reins of the project. In the future, things will be different.
007 Second Light, Third Light...
Jeff Gattis, head of Amazon's gaming division, interviewed by Polygon, confirmed that more 007 video games will arrive in the future and that they will be created by Amazon Game Studios. These projects will be part of a strategy that involves expanding franchises across different media: films, games, and TV series. However, Gattis does not specify who will be the developer of the next James Bond games, so it is not certain that IO Interactive will still be in charge.
