Tutti i vincitori dei Game Awards 2022

Dopo l'entusiastica reazione del pubblico e il consenso unanime della critica, Elden Ring riceve anche il premio di Game of the Year, la consacrazione definitiva per l'opera di FromSoftware, la quale aveva già trionfato tre anni addietro con Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. A ricevere il premio si è presentato Hidetaka Miyazaki in persona, accompagnato sul palco da alcuni sviluppatori del suo studio (e da un anonimo invasore, che ha causato un bizzarro fuori programma blaterando qualcosa su Bill Clinton al microfono). Complessivamente, Elden Ring si è aggiudicato quattro riconoscimenti e nella corsa a gioco dell'anno ha prevalso sull'altro grande contendente, God of War Ragnarök.

I Santa Monica Studio non sono riusciti a bissare il successo ottenuto nel 2018 col precedente capitolo della saga, ma hanno di che consolarsi con i sei premi portati a casa da Ragnarök. I due videogame citati sono stati i mattatori dello show e hanno lasciato agli altri le briciole: pensate, fra gli altri candidati a Game of the Year, A Plague Tale: Requiem, Horizon Forbidden West e Xenoblade Chronicles 3 sono tutti rimasti a bocca asciutta, nonostante le numerose nomination ricevute.
