Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Dark Ties Will Have a Demo
Presumably around the launch date
Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Dark Ties, announced by SEGA last September and confirmed in December, is indeed nearing release. The game is a Remake of Yakuza 3 - which we Reviewed at its launch way back in 2010 - with the addition of a new storyline based on the game's antagonist, Yoshitaka Mine.
Thanks to a report published by Sony on the Official Playstation Blog, we learn that SEGA and the Ryu ga Gotoku team are also preparing a playable Demo of the title. The revelation was communicated during a specific event to which Sachie Kobari, director of SIE, was invited along with other industry colleagues, but for now, we do not know when the Demo will be released, what content it will offer, or if any progress can then be transferred to the full game. It is, however, presumed that it could arrive on various platforms concurrently with the launch.
Yakuza 3 is the third chapter in the saga starring Kazuma Kiryu and opens with the ex-Yakuza having to abandon his peaceful life as an orphanage administrator to return to dealing with the problems of the Dojima family in the fictional district of Kamurocho. The game, originally released on PS3, was later remastered for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Dark Ties will arrive on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2 on February 12, 2026.
