Orbitals Will Have Friend's Pass and a Demo on Switch 2
Meaning two players can play online, even if only one has purchased the title
Japanese studio Shapefarm has shared new information about Orbitals, the cooperative 2-player video game with a style reminiscent of '90s anime. Friend's Pass is confirmed, and if you're familiar with It Takes Two (which Orbitals is inspired by), you'll already know what it means: to play online multiplayer, only one of the two users will need to purchase the title.
Orbitals Multiplayer
Orbitals' multiplayer can be played in several ways: the first is local, on a single Nintendo Switch 2 console. The second is local via Gameshare: here, the user who owns the game will need to use Nintendo Switch 2, while the second user can also use Switch 1. Then there's online via Gameshare, where one user owns the game and the second accesses it via Friend's Pass, and finally online where both users own the game. Take a look at the image below, which summarizes the four situations.
The Orbitals Demo
It should be noted, however, that a Nintendo Switch Online subscription is required to access online play and Gameshare. For more details, please consult the official website. Orbitals will be available from September 3rd, exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2. From the same day, a demo will be available, allowing players to try the first level of the game for free, only in local co-op mode.
