Last October, Microsoft implemented a major reorganization of Game Pass: the subscription service's tiers were changed, and so were the prices. You can find the details in this article; the top tier, Ultimate, saw a significant price increase of 50%, going from €17.99 to €26.99 per month. This decision certainly didn't go unnoticed among gamers and, apparently, doesn't even satisfy Xbox's top brass.

Sharma's words on Game Pass

Asha Sharma, a Microsoft executive who took Phil Spencer's place at the top of the Xbox pyramid, shared a message with employees that ended up in the hands of The Verge: according to reports, Sharma believes the current Game Pass model is not the definitive one. Sharma acknowledges that Game Pass is too expensive for players and that a better value equation is needed.

Game Pass will change again, but how?

The Xbox boss continues by adding that, in the long term, Game Pass will evolve into a more flexible system, although it will take time to test it and understand how to do so. We should therefore expect further changes in the future, although it is unclear in what direction; Sharma intends to discuss the topic again next week and perhaps more details will emerge.
