Developer_Direct is Xbox's early-year event, where developers showcase some of the company's major releases. The 2026 edition took place last Thursday, with Playground Games being the main protagonist, featuring two highly anticipated titles: Fable and Forza Horizon 6. The showcase also gave ample space to Beast of Reincarnation and the announcement of Kiln, but upon closer inspection, there would have been other games related to the Xbox ecosystem to see.

Which games for the potential second Direct?

For example, Microsoft's gaming division will release other anticipated video games in 2026, such as Gears of War: E-Day or Halo: Campaign Evolved. Not to mention titles published by third parties (like Beast of Reincarnation) or those from an illustrious subsidiary like Activision/Blizzard (one name above all: the next Call of Duty). Why are we discussing this? Because the hypothesis has been floated that a second Developer_Direct will be broadcast in 2026.

The rumor comes to us from Jez Corden, via the XB2 podcast: the well-known insider has heard that Xbox is exploring the possibility of broadcasting another Developer_Direct this year, so don't be surprised if it actually happens. Unfortunately, Corden cannot tell us when the event would eventually be broadcast.
