World War Z Goes… Viral for GTA 6's Release
An update bringing the Zombie apocalypse to Florida
The release of Grand Theft Auto VI, scheduled for next month, will undoubtedly capture the attention of a large portion of the gaming community, inevitably overshadowing the rest of the competition. However, an event of this magnitude could also turn into an opportunity to seize: the members of Saber Interactive probably thought something similar when they conceived the new World War Z update.
For those unfamiliar, World War Z is a third-person shooter inspired by Max Brooks' book of the same name (and thus belonging to the same universe as the film with Brad Pitt), a title best enjoyed with company. Its greatest strength is the way it unleashes an absurd quantity of zombies onto the screen, thanks to a graphics engine designed specifically for this purpose, the Swarm Engine. The Viral State Update
As mentioned above, Saber Interactive has prepared a new update, called Viral State, which will bring the zombie apocalypse to the sunny streets of a new location: Miami. Does the announcement trailer remind you of anything? It's no coincidence that the update is "viral" and no coincidence that it will be released on November 12, 2026, close to GTA 6. Saber fully intends to ride the long wave of Rockstar Games' blockbuster.
