Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross's band has unveiled As Alive As You Need Me to Be, the first track from the original album for Tron: Ares. Directed by Maxime Quoilin, the music video is an explosion of digital chaos and augmented reality, with Reznor singing in a pixelated universe that crumbles to the rhythm of the music.

A Grand Return for NIN

This is no ordinary single. The track precedes the Tron: Ares soundtrack, set for release on September 19 via Interscope Records, while the film will hit cinemas on October 9. The new Disney film tells the story of Ares, a digital program that crosses into the real world, marking humanity's first contact with artificial intelligence. The cast features Jared Leto, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Gillian Anderson, and the return of Jeff Bridges, directed by Joachim Rønning.

The launch coincides with the Peel It Back Tour, the Nine Inch Nails' first tour since 2022. After Europe, the band is currently touring North America and will conclude the tour on September 18 in Los Angeles, just before the album's release. With a music video that blends music and digital visions, Reznor and Ross reaffirm their role as pioneers in the fusion of cinema and dark sonorities.
