Genki has announced the release date for its Tokyo Xtreme Racer. The new installment of the historic racing game, set on the streets of the Japanese capital, will debut on PC via Steam on September 25 for $49.99 (and the equivalent in euros). The title has been in early access since last January, where it has achieved considerable success among players, with 94% positive ratings from nearly 12,000 reviews.

The 1.0 version will introduce new cars and components, a new chapter with new rivals, and balance adjustments based on user feedback. Replays will not be available on day one to prioritize the volume of content, and it seems the idea of Steam-level leaderboards has been abandoned due to difficulties encountered in preventing cheaters. A real shame; we hope they change their minds about this.
