The Irony: retro horror announcement trailer
A Dead Space-inspired experience with rough, old-school graphics
Sylopon, an indie studio formed by two Korean developers, has announced The Irony with a new trailer. It is a 2.5D action horror game, inspired by Dead Space. The protagonist of The Irony is an inspector sent to investigate an abandoned research facility, which was the scene of human experiments. This sinister place is now haunted by the results of those experiments…
The Irony Gameplay
The protagonist will be forced to fight against humans enhanced with mechanical limbs. The clashes will be brutal: our heroine risks losing her own limbs… In that case, she will have to take the risk of replacing them with mechanical ones, becoming stronger, but losing part of her humanity. The combat system promises to be intense, with melee and ranged attacks, parries, and counterattacks.
When and Where The Irony Releases
The calling card of this production is its peculiar graphic style: rough 3D models and pixelated environments recreate an aesthetic that aims to evoke the PlayStation 2 era. The Irony will be released on PC, via Steam; the launch window is set for 2027, but if you want to try it in advance, there are playtests, which you can request access to via the Steam page.
