The Evil That Binds Us - Trailer Unveils Chilean Horror
A German family and dangerous secrets hidden amidst violence and racism
Behind an apparently normal family lies something that should not emerge. It is from this tension that The Evil That Binds Us takes shape, a thriller with horror undertones set in 1950s Chile.
Directed by Nico Postiglione, the film follows Daniel, a boy marked by the loss of his mother, forced to confront his roots by coming into contact with his paternal family. A distant, almost hostile environment, where the only point of reference becomes Ema, a key figure in bringing to light hidden truths.
The evil that unites and destroys
When the girl disappears and the matter is quickly hushed up, silence becomes the real enemy. Daniel thus decides not to accept the official version, embarking on a path that will lead him to clash with deep secrets and unpredictable consequences.
Filmed in the Chilean city of Valdivia, the film builds its identity on a slow atmosphere charged with unease, closer to a psychological thriller than traditional horror. The cast includes Catrin Striebeck, Tilo Werner, Teodoro Bustos, and Fernanda Finsterbusch. After its run at Fantastic Fest, the film is now in Chilean cinemas, awaiting international distribution, which in Italy will see it exclusively on streaming.
