Super Mario Galaxy Movie – The Final Trailer and New Voices
Leading the epic side is the Guardian of the Cosmos and adoptive mother of the Lumas
Nintendo and Illumination have released the final trailer for Super Mario Galaxy Movie, a sequel to the animated film dedicated to the most famous plumber in video games. The new chapter will take the adventure of the Mario brothers beyond the borders of the Mushroom Kingdom, with a journey through planets and galaxies that directly recalls the aesthetics and mechanics seen in the Super Mario Galaxy games and some ideas introduced by Super Mario Odyssey.
The film will arrive in Italian cinemas and North American ones on April 1, 2026, two days earlier than the initially planned date. The film is once again directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, with creative supervision by Shigeru Miyamoto.
Galactic Adventures with Old and New Characters
Among the most significant cast additions is the presence of Donald Glover, who will voice Yoshi. The voice cast also includes Luis Guzmán as the classic antagonist Wart and Issa Rae as Honey Queen. Leading the more epic aspect of the story will be Rosalina, played by Brie Larson. For Italy, the return of the main voice cast from the first film is confirmed, with Claudio Santamaria as Mario, Valentina Favazza as Peach, Emiliano Coltorti as Luigi, and Fabrizio Vidale as Bowser. At the moment, there is no news regarding the local voices for the new characters.
The plot revolves around Bowser Jr.'s plan, determined to free his father and re-establish the Koopa family's dominance. To stop him, Mario and Luigi will have to seek Rosalina's help and face a threat that extends on a cosmic scale.
The trailer anticipates a visually ambitious film, with planetary settings, gravity variations, and numerous references for long-time fans of the saga, including a cameo by the historic robot R.O.B.
