A joke about the death of activist Charlie Kirk has cost Drew Harrison dearly, an artist from Sucker Punch studio with almost 10 years of experience at PlayStation Studios. Harrison wrote online "I hope the shooter’s name is Mario so that Luigi knows his bro got his back": the reference is likely to Luigi Mangione, who gained notoriety for being accused of the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO, Brian Thompson.

As reported by Kotaku, Harrison's statement certainly did not go unnoticed and sparked much controversy, particularly from members of the American right. Harrison herself was the target of online attacks. As we said, the joke came at a high price: a spokesperson for Sony Interactive Entertainment confirmed to Kotaku that Harrison is no longer employed by Sucker Punch.
