After the conclusion of the main series, the universe of Stranger Things doesn't fade out but transforms. Netflix has released the first trailer for Stranger Things: Storie dal 1985 - Stranger Things: Tales From '85, an animated spin-off that chooses a different path: no sequel but a story set between the second and third seasons, when Hawkins had already learned to live with the impossible.

The project aims for a lighter, more adventurous tone, without sacrificing mysteries, unsettling creatures, and the unmistakable eighties atmosphere. The choice of animation is not accidental: it allows for visual freedom, more extreme situations, and a deliberately playful approach, difficult to sustain in live-action without compromise.

The Hawkins Universe Expands

Behind the scenes, we find the Duffer brothers as executive producers, joined by Shawn Levy, while the production is entrusted to Flying Bark Productions, a studio already experienced with high-profile franchises. The series is conceived as a standalone story, accessible even to those who don't have the saga fresh in memory, but rich in references for long-time fans.

Another element of discontinuity: the characters' voices are new. Eleven, Mike, Dustin, and the others return with different interpretations, more aligned with the language of animation than with imitating the original actors.

The date is already set: Stranger Things: Storie dal 1985 will debut on April 23, 2026. An experiment that could open new avenues for the Hawkins universe, without affecting its ending.
