S.W.A.T. Exiles, the team restarts: agreement for Italy
The first season will consist of 10 episodes, but the project is already beyond that
After 8 seasons and several last-minute rescues, S.W.A.T. restarts with a new series dedicated to Hondo Harrelson, the character played by Shemar Moore. S.W.A.T. Exiles will debut in the United States on September 25 on Starz, while for Italy, Rai and Sky Italia have been indicated as distributors, but a launch date has not yet been set.
The series places Hondo in a different position: he will have to lead a group of inexperienced recruits and take on the role of mentor. The mission will become more complicated when the presence of a mole within the team, engaged in divulging confidential information, emerges.
A new team and a traitor to uncover
Shemar Moore will reprise the role of Daniel Harrelson. Jay Harrington, who plays Deacon, and David Lim, who will once again portray Tan, will also return. The cast will also include Lucy Barrett, Freddy Miyares, Zyra Gorecki, Ronen Rubinstein, and Adain Bradley.
Production is entrusted to Sony Pictures Television, and the move from CBS to Starz marks a new phase for the franchise. The first season will consist of 10 episodes, but the project has already been greenlit for a second cycle. The original series' journey was marked by repeated cancellations, followed by renewals that came about thanks to fan protests. A support that Moore recalled when speaking of Hondo's return.
