After River City Saga: Three Kingdoms, Arc System Works is bringing the River City Saga series back to ancient China, announcing River City Saga: Journey to the West. The name is not official for the West, so it might change soon, and we don't have screenshots or a trailer to work with, but from what little was seen at the Taipei Game Show 2026, where a playable demo is available, the gameplay seems to maintain the classic characteristics of a minimalist 2.5D beat'em up.
The debut is scheduled for 2026 on PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 5. We will keep you updated with any news.
