Rapunzel Live-Action Changes a Key Scene in the Finale
Disney seems intent on preserving the spirit of the original by making targeted changes
A new leaked video from the set of the live-action remake of Rapunzel has piqued fans' curiosity, showing what appears to be a change in one of the story's most emotional sequences. The images don't tell the whole scene, but they are enough to suggest a different approach compared to the 2010 animated feature film.
The video features Teagan Croft with the look the character adopts after Mother Gothel's defeat: short, brown hair, just like in the finale of the Disney classic. The sequence depicts the princess's return to the kingdom of Corona, where she finally reunites with her parents.

The novelty concerns Flynn Rider, played by Milo Manheim. While in the original film the young man was almost immediately welcomed by the sovereigns, this time Rapunzel would personally lead him before her parents, introducing him before he is embraced by the queen. A seemingly minor modification, but one that makes the protagonist more involved in the concluding moment of the story and strengthens her journey of growth.
The cast also includes Kathryn Hahn as Mother Gothel, while behind the camera is Michael Gracey (The Greatest Showman, Better Man). The film is scheduled for release in 2028 and, at least from what has emerged so far, Disney seems intent on preserving the spirit of the original by intervening only with targeted changes, capable of giving greater weight to its protagonists without distorting the story.
