Pirates of the Caribbean, Elizabeth and Beckett Together Again
A quiet reunion among friends unearths old wounds and exposes hidden truths
Almost twenty years after the Pirates of the Caribbean films, Keira Knightley and Tom Hollander are preparing to share the set once again. The actors have joined the cast of The Worst, a dark comedy currently in production in the south of France, marking Simon Woods' feature film directorial debut.
The story revolves around a sophisticated weekend organized by a wealthy couple at their French château. What should be a quiet reunion among friends ends up transforming into a confrontation that unearths old wounds and exposes the relationships between the guests.
A Weekend Destined for Chaos
Knightley will play Holly, a diversity policy consultant, while Hollander will portray Max, the husband of the character assigned to Alicia Vikander. The cast also includes Sam Claflin, Anthony Boyle, Erin Kellyman, Zackary Momoh, Josh Finan, Anna Maxwell Martin, Dustin Demri-Burns, Sian Clifford, and Eka Chavleishvili.
For fans of the Disney saga, it will be impossible not to think of their previous on-screen encounter: she was Elizabeth Swann, he played Lord Cutler Beckett, one of the main antagonists of the original trilogy. This time, no ships or duels: the two will find themselves in a completely different context, but the allusion to the famous Disney saga will be unavoidable.
