Monster Hunter Wilds Finally Reaches 11 Million Copies Sold
Almost a year to pocket another million after the success of the first few weeks
Monster Hunter Wilds started with a bang, with something like 10 million copies sold in less than a month from day one, but since then, between faltering performance and little material for series veterans, sales have plummeted. The title recovered ground thanks to the Title Updates in subsequent months, but the damage was already done, so much so that it took almost a year to reach 11 million. This is according to Capcom in its latest financial report.
The recent introduction of Gogmazios and new endgame options worked wonders for those seeking greater challenge and variety, but this did not translate into a commercial recovery, with just 300,000 copies sold between September 30 and the end of the year. Title Update 4 is still ongoing, with further PC optimizations and the Tempered Arkveld coming soon, but it's unlikely the trend will change. We'll see what else the developers have in store.
Monster Hunter Wilds is available on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
