Microsoft: 2026 plans take GTA 6 into account
Four big titles to fit into the calendar
Microsoft has numerous big releases in the pipeline for 2026: in addition to the rumored PS5 port of Starfield, which we discussed HERE, there are indeed 4 titles related to major Xbox brands that are expected to hit shelves between now and December.
The Redmond company's agenda has been analyzed by The Verge and places Forza Horizon 6 first in terms of timing, with its release confirmed for May 19. This is the only firm date at the moment, but according to sources, Halo: Campaign Evolved, the remake of the first chapter of the saga announced last November, would be due in Summer.
However, after that, we enter a kind of minefield...
GTA 6 scares off autumn launches
It is well known that Rockstar's highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI, a true video game market juggernaut, is announced [barring new delays] for November 19, 2026, with publisher Take-Two having promised to launch the marketing campaign during the Summer.
In the autumn window, however, Microsoft intends to launch two undoubtedly significant titles: Gears of War: E-Day, a prequel to the saga, and the new Fable. For both of these titles, the big M is reportedly evaluating options to avoid having to jostle with GTA6, for example by occupying slots in September and October or extending one of the two titles until December, but in general, it is waiting for definitive confirmation from Rockstar before announcing its own dates.
Microsoft's other launches
In addition to its 4 flagship titles, all linked to Xbox-made IPs, Microsoft is also reportedly involved in the publication of other games: among others, Double Fine's new work, Kiln, stands out, with its launch scheduled for Spring.
Many also believe that, given the success of the Amazon TV series based on Fallout, a remastered edition of Fallout 3 could appear during the year, but for now, there are only hypotheses about this product.
So, let's expect new announcements soon...
