Anime Factory by Plaion Pictures has announced the arrival in Italian cinemas of Lupin the IIIRD – The Movie: The Immortal Lineage, a new film directed by master Takeshi Koike (Redline, Animatrix). After almost thirty years, Lupin III returns as the protagonist of a 2D animated feature film, marking a highly anticipated event for fans: a journey to the origins of the myth and its most authentic spirit.

With his unmistakable visual style, Koike continues the dark and sensual reinterpretation of the Lupin the IIIRD universe, already explored in the OVAs dedicated to Jigen, Goemon, and Fujiko. In this new chapter, the gentleman thief and his gang find themselves trapped on a mysterious island alongside their eternal pursuer, Inspector “Zazà” Zenigata. Here, a legendary enemy awaits them: Mamo, a historic antagonist who first appeared in The Mystery of Mamo (1978), reimagined as an immortal and megalomaniacal being.
