Lexar unveiled the Thor RGB 2nd Gen DDR5 Desktop Memory at Gamescom 2025, an evolution of its high-performance memory line designed for gamers and PC enthusiasts. This second generation aims to combine higher speeds, enhanced reliability, and a bold RGB design, perfect for high-end systems.
The new memory modules offer capacities up to 128GB and speeds reaching 6400 MT/s, making them suitable for competitive gaming sessions as well as more intense workloads. Support for Intel XMP 3.0 and AMD EXPO profiles provides "simple and immediate overclocking," while the presence of on-die ECC ensures stability and real-time error correction. Completing the package is an aluminum heatsink, designed to maintain optimal temperatures even under prolonged stress.
Capacity, Speed, and Lighting
From an aesthetic standpoint, customizable RGB lighting allows the modules to integrate with any setup, transforming the memory into a scenic as well as technical element. Lexar also emphasizes build quality by offering a limited lifetime warranty, further confirming confidence in the product's durability. Available configurations include kits of 32GB (2x16GB), 64GB (2x32GB), and 128GB (2x64GB).
