Let it Die Goes Offline, Over 9 Years After Launch
Servers are shutting down, but the game will live on
Let it Die is an action-survival roguelike that transports players to a kind of new Tower of Babel, within an asynchronous PvP context. Developed by Grasshopper Manufacture, the game was launched in December 2016, more than nine years ago, and to date has attracted over 9 million users. Last December, the sequel, Let it Die: Inferno, was released, entering its second season and set to take the place of the original.
When Let it Die's Service Ends
With a message on the official website, the Let it Die team announced that the game's servers will be shut down on August 31, 2026. The in-game currency Death Metal can be used until July 30. After August 31, Let it Die will not cease to exist, but will still be available offline: however, to keep it in your library, you must have made at least one microtransaction (the game itself is free-to-play).
