Last Seen - Trailer Reopens 11-Year-Old Mystery

An unexpected phone call reopens a wound that seemed impossible to heal in the first trailer for Last Seen, a new Apple TV thriller series set in Australia. At the center of the series is Ian Ridley, played by Patrick Brammall, a former detective who never stopped searching for his daughter Maggie, who disappeared eleven years prior.
Ian has left the police force and now works as an emergency services operator. It is during a shift that something once again disrupts his life: a girl calls for help on the phone, and Ian believes he recognizes that voice. For him, it could be Maggie, who vanished when she was still a child.
A Voice Rekindles the Mystery
From that moment, the protagonist decides to follow a lead that could finally take him to his daughter. The problem is that he cannot know if that voice truly represents a breakthrough or is merely what he desperately wishes to hear after more than a decade.
The series is inspired by Ryan David Jahn's novel The Dispatcher, published in 2011, but relocates the story to Australia. Kris Mrksa pens the adaptation, while direction is handled by Christian Schwochow. The cast also includes Maxine Peake, Brendan Cowell, Daniel Henshall, and Zahra Newman.
Last Seen will debut on Apple TV on September 9, 2026 with the first two episodes. Subsequent episodes will arrive every Wednesday, until the finale scheduled for October 7.
