Kotama & Academy Citadel, release date for the anime metroidvania

Atomstring Games and 2P Games have announced the release date for their Kotama & Academy Citadel. The side-scrolling metroidvania, featuring 3D graphics and an anime aesthetic, will debut on PC via Steam on January 15, 2026. A demo is available for download.

In the title, players will take on the role of transfer student Kotama and must explore the depths of a labyrinthine and improbable academy, utilizing abilities acquired along the way and defeating dangerous bosses through a dynamic action-RPG combat system. Here is the announcement trailer.
