Jensen Ackles Hunts a Serial Killer in Rules of Prey

Jensen Ackles will play Lucas Davenport in Rules of Prey, an eight-episode television series inspired by John Sandford's crime novels. The story centers on a former Minneapolis detective called back into service when a series of murders draws him into a personal confrontation with the killer.

New Challenge for the Texas Actor

Davenport is not your classic by-the-book cop. His unorthodox approach has already led to him leaving the force, but the new case will force him back into the field. The killer seems to want to communicate directly with him, turning the investigation into a psychological challenge. Already involved in DTF St. Louis, Bruce Terris will be the showrunner. Daniel Sackheim will direct the first two episodes, Sandford will participate in the production, and Ackles himself is among the executive producers.

Filming will take place shortly near Toronto, Canada. Distribution is handled by MGM+, which plans to launch the series in the United States and several international markets, including Italy. The debut date has not yet been announced. A significant presence in The Boys and Countdown, this opens up a new starring role for Ackles in a crime thriller that focuses on the conflict between a tormented investigator and an adversary determined to challenge him on his own turf.
