According to information leaked from Chinese sources, Colorful Technology is reportedly ready to launch a new high-end motherboard based on the AMD X870E chipset. Identified as iGame X870E VULCAN OC, the model has already appeared in official documentation and regional marketing materials, signaling an imminent announcement.

The new VULCAN OC would position itself as the absolute top-of-the-line in Colorful's AM5 series, explicitly designed for enthusiast overclockers. Among the emerging specifications is support for the AM5 socket with declared compatibility for Ryzen 7000, 8000, 9000 series CPUs and future processors based on the Zen 5 architecture.

Challenging historical high-end brands

As for the hardware, the board is expected to adopt an 18+2+2 phase VRM with dual 8-pin EPS connectors, flanked by a two-DIMM DDR5 layout optimized for extreme overclocking, with frequencies that, according to rumors, could exceed DDR5-10000. It would also feature a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot, multiple M.2 slots (including PCIe 5.0), Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, 5GbE Ethernet, and the iconic Vulcan series LCD display for system monitoring.

After a gradual entry into the AM5 market with mainstream solutions, Colorful now seems ready to challenge historical brands in the high-end segment. Price and launch date remain unknown for now.
