Highguard: Site is Unreachable

The beginning of the end for the shooter?

Highguard loses another piece. Just last week, we reported the news of the heavy wave of layoffs that hit Wildlight Entertainment after the unconvincing launch of its shooter, which was presented with great fanfare but then increasingly slipped into oblivion.

Now, the latest – and very sad – news is that the game's official website is currently unreachable. We're not talking about a technical problem or a random 404 error: the site actually displays a properly crafted disclaimer informing the visitor that, simply put, the site isn't there.

The only firsthand insight into what's happening within Wildlight Entertainment comes from a developer who had the courage to answer a specific fan question: in addition to confirming [as if it were needed] that the outage is perfectly known to the team, the internal source stated that the site must be "lightened and moved" – probably to a more modest provider – but that at the moment this "is not a priority."

However, the community is, of course, murmuring, and although the game is currently still functional and the Steam reviews are slowly recovering, the fact remains that after all the grand fanfare at the Video Game Awards 2025, the game presents problems, limitations, and isn't fully convincing – as our Review can tell you.

Will the promised updates manage to save the day? We'll find out if and only if Highguard continues to live long enough to see them arrive...
