Johnny Blaze's new adventure will revolve around his demonic nature and the price to pay for living with the Spirit of Vengeance. This is what emerges from a first plot description, which hints at a deeper exploration of the character's more tormented aspects, previously undervalued in cinematic adaptations.

Benjamin Percy, author of the comic book series dedicated to the infernal motorcyclist published between 2022 and 2023, would like the production not to tone down the more extreme aspects, taking Hellraiser, the saga created by Clive Barker, as a reference.

In the Footsteps of Hellraiser

His vision includes incandescent chains emerging from Blaze's mouth and sequences in which his body is progressively devoured by flames, without sparing details on the monstrous nature of the curse. It is not confirmed that Shawn Levy, indicated as director, shares this approach. The eventual US “R” censorship rating, reserved for adult audiences, also remains to be verified.

The theatrical release is currently scheduled for late July 2028. Gosling will inherit the cinematic legacy of Nic Cage, who played the infernal motorcyclist in the not-so-successful chapters of 2007 and 2011.
