Playground Games clarifies the unpleasant issue

The highly anticipated Forza Horizon 6 will officially launch in one week, on May 19, but a complete build of the game has already fallen into the hands of pirates, as we reported in this article. Developer Playground Games has addressed the issue, threatening severe retaliation against anyone who illegally accesses the title and clarifying that they are not responsible for what happened.


Data theft is not Playground Games' fault

According to the initial reconstruction of events, the data theft was believed to have occurred due to an error by Playground Games, but this is not the case. The studio has in fact specified that the build did not end up online due to its pre-load of data, as previously thought. The staff of SteamDB also commented on the matter, stating that Forza Horizon 6 was the victim of a leak by someone who had early access to the game, likely to write a review.


The ban from the entire Forza franchise

Playground Games, rightly so, is taking action against those who have accessed the pirated build. Those found in possession of an illegal copy of Forza Horizon 6 risk receiving a ban from the entire franchise and a hardware ban on the device they used for piracy. Forewarned is forearmed…
