Flesh of the Gods - Thriller with Kristen Stewart and Wagner Moura
A married couple in 1980s Los Angeles joins hedonists, sinking into a surreal underworld of excess and violence
A new project is coming to the American indie scene: Wagner Moura will join Kristen Stewart in Flesh of the Gods, a vampire thriller distributed in the United States by A24. The film will be directed by Panos Cosmatos, known for Mandy and son of George P. Cosmatos (Tombstone, Leviathan, Rambo 2), while the screenplay is penned by Andrew Kevin Walker (Se7en).
The story follows Raoul and Alex, a married couple in 1980s Los Angeles, drawn nightly into a dark and seductive world of excess, violence, and mystery. An encounter with the enigmatic Nameless and her circle pushes the protagonists into an increasingly extreme spiral.
Inside a World Without Rules
Originally, the role of Raoul had been assigned to Oscar Isaac, who was later forced to leave the project due to prior commitments. Meanwhile, Elizabeth Olsen's participation remains uncertain; she was initially linked to the role of Nameless. Adam McKay and Betsy Koch for Hyperobject Industries are also producing, along with Stewart herself.
The project comes at a particularly positive time for Moura, fresh off his Oscar recognition for The Secret Agent, which made him the first Brazilian actor nominated for Best Actor.
