Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis Reaches Its End
The mobile spinoff of the popular JRPG will close its doors in October
Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis represents one of Square Enix's many attempts to leverage the legacy of what is perhaps the most iconic and revered JRPG of all time. Released in September 2023 on mobile devices and three months later on PC, this free-to-play title with microtransactions retells the events of Final Fantasy 7 and its related games: it's no coincidence that Tetsuya Nomura described it as an alternative remake.
The Closure of FF VII Ever Crisis
If you are among those who enjoyed reliving Final Fantasy VII from Ever Crisis's alternative perspective, we regret to inform you that you will only be able to do so for another three months: Square Enix has announced the closure of the servers, which will occur on October 6, 2026. The sale of in-game currency (Red Crystals) has been suspended, but if you still have some in your inventory, you can spend it by the date indicated above.
