Final Fantasy VII Revelation was hinted at as the announced protagonist of the State of Play, and Square Enix did not disappoint, appearing with a nearly 10-minute trailer that deeply showcases the gameplay. But that's not all, because the release date for what will be the concluding chapter of the trilogy reimagining the immortal Final Fantasy 7 was also revealed.

FF VII Revelation Gameplay

Final Fantasy VII Revelation will be an action/RPG that offers players a vast world to explore, using various means such as the flying ship Highwind or the trusty Chocobo mount. Players can even use a grappling hook to scale city buildings. As for combat, the main novelty is the introduction of the so-called FITS system.

An acronym for Function-Integrated Tactical Suitwear, this system involves uniforms that characters can wear to change not only their aesthetic appearance but, more importantly, their abilities in battle. Within Revelation, we will find four FITS archetypes: Warrior, Knight, Black Mage, and Summoner. Additionally, the card mini-game Queen's Blood will make its return, with a new storyline.

Where and When FF VII Revelation Releases

We will be able to witness the conclusion of the trilogy next spring: the release date for Final Fantasy VII Revelation is set for April 8, 2027. In addition to PlayStation 5, Square Enix's new work will be available on Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store).
