Final Fantasy Resonance Has Arrived: The Launch Trailer
A JRPG that pays homage to Square Enix's glorious past
The Japanese company Square Enix announces the release of Final Fantasy Resonance: the game is available starting today, October 22, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 1 and 2, PC (Steam, Xbox PC) platforms, accompanied by the launch trailer you see above. Being a Final Fantasy, we are obviously dealing with a JRPG, in which a traditional and a modern soul coexist.
On one hand, we find the classic turn-based combat system that made the series immortal, despite being set aside in the latest installments of the saga. On the other hand, there is a style linked to Square Enix's more recent productions, HD-2D, which combines 3D scenarios with two-dimensional sprite characters. The result of this combination demonstrates that the Japanese company is still an authority in the field of JRPGs, as we explain in our Final Fantasy Resonance review.
