Fear Not - Anne Hathaway Stars in True Crime Series
Not just another production about another serial killer, but a deeply human true story
Anne Hathaway is set to return to the small screen with Fear Not, a true crime series coming to Paramount+ that promises to shake viewers without indulging in the superficial and sensationalistic use of disturbing themes. Inspired by a 2023 Vanity Fair article and adapted by Bash Doran, the project tackles a real story that is as disturbing as it is profoundly human.
The series reconstructs the case of Stephen Morin, an individual accused of numerous murders, and the unexpected relationship that developed with Margaret Mayfield Palm, played by Hathaway. In December 1981, Palm is forced by Morin, who is on the run, to accompany him to a bus station. From that moment, a complex bond is formed, made of compassion, faith, and a radical conviction: even those who have committed the worst can change.
A Real Case as Dark as It Is Human
The actress will not only star but also serve as executive producer with her Somewhere Pictures, a sign of strong personal involvement. Fear Not aims to distinguish itself in the true crime landscape, choosing introspection over pure reporting, exploring the gray areas of morality and the uncomfortable questions about redemption.
The series comes at a particularly intense period for the actress, who is also expected in Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey and The Devil Wears Prada 2. With Fear Not, Anne Hathaway once again confirms her attraction to risky and uncompromising stories.
