Fatal Frame 2, Japanese Survival Horror Remake Gets Release Date
It'll be called Project Zero here, right?
Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo have announced the release date for the remastered version of Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly. The remake (of the remake?) of the spooky survival horror will debut on PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on March 12, 2026. Pre-orders are already available, except for the Nintendo console.
According to the infographic on the official website, the title will run at 30fps on all platforms, excluding high-end PCs, while HDR will only be supported via a post-launch update, but not on Switch 2, which will, however, be able to orient the Camera Obscura using the gyroscope.
Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly Remake will be available in Standard and Deluxe editions, with the latter including a digital artbook and soundtrack, and a series of extra costumes for protagonists Mio and Mayu. Here's the announcement trailer.
