Fast X: Part 2 - The Cristiano Ronaldo Hypothesis Emerges
The soccer star has never been on a film set, but his media influence is enormous
Vin Diesel reignites the spotlight on Fast & Furious with an Instagram post that immediately went viral. A photo with Cristiano Ronaldo and an unequivocal phrase: a role within the saga's "mythology" would have been written for the soccer star. No official confirmation from Universal, but that was enough to spark hypotheses and discussions.
The timing is not accidental. After the release of Fast X in 2023, the series is in a delicate phase. The very expensive tenth chapter did not guarantee the hoped-for returns, and now the Studio aims to contain the budget of Fast X: Part Two, indicated as the conclusive chapter. In this context, the idea of involving a global figure like Ronaldo appears as fascinating as it is contradictory.
Stroke of genius or desperate attempt?
Cristiano Ronaldo has never acted in a film, but his media influence is enormous: he is the most followed person on Instagram, and his name guarantees immediate visibility. From a promotional standpoint, it would be a sensational coup, even if potentially costly.
However, a key question remains: how much of this is concrete? Vin Diesel is known for fueling hype with suggestive announcements, not always followed by real developments. Currently, Fast 11 does not have a filming start date, and many projects related to the saga remain suspended. While ultra-excessive without denying the series' style, the last chapter released in theaters also proved to be the weakest in terms of storytelling, with an equally questionable ending.
Between internal reconciliations, excellent returns, and promises of an epic finale, Ronaldo's potential entry could be the last big surprise. Or just another spark thrown to keep attention alive. The film is currently still expected for 2027.
