Electronic Arts Pushes Hard for AI Use

The company wants it to be used more and more. But what will happen to the staff?

Like it or not, artificial intelligence has become part of our world, and we must accept that its use will become increasingly intensive in the years to come. However, there are different ways to use it, especially concerning professions that require human creativity. For companies in the video game sector, the issue becomes quite delicate: obviously, there is much interest in the phenomenon, but also many reasons for concern.


Electronic Arts and Artificial Intelligence

A report from Business Insider tells us about Electronic Arts' openness to artificial intelligence. According to employees, who for obvious reasons preferred to remain anonymous, over the past year, EA has been pushing for AI to be used everywhere: both in development, such as for writing code or creating concept art, and in managerial activities.

EA reportedly asked its employees to take courses on artificial intelligence, to use the relevant tools daily, and even to view generative AI as a kind of "partner". One of the problems with this approach is that the tools in question are imperfect: those used, such as the in-house chatbot ReefGPT, write code with errors that then need to be manually corrected.

Another critical point is that artists would have to train AI with their own works, with the fear that the technology will end up reducing the demand for artists: in other words, they would absurdly create the conditions for their future dismissal.
