Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol - The Rich Cast of Ti West's Film
From the screenwriter of "Legion", the celebrated 1843 story reinterpreted in a gothic and visionary key
The new adaptation of A Christmas Carol directed by Ti West is taking shape with significant additions to the cast. According to Deadline, Rupert Grint and Daisy Ridley are officially joining the project Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol, a darker reinterpretation of Charles Dickens' classic.
Joining them are Sam Claflin, Charlie Murphy, Arthur Conti, and Ellie Bamber, further expanding an already high-profile cast. The main role of Ebenezer Scrooge will be played by Johnny Depp, alongside Andrea Riseborough, Ian McKellen, and Tramell Tillman, the latter rumored as a possible Ghost of Christmas Present.
Depp could be a formidable Scrooge
The film is written by Nathaniel Halpern (Legion, Tales from the Loop) and promises to transform the celebrated 1843 story into a gothic and visionary tale. Set in Dickensian London, Ebenezer is described as an intense ghost story, centered on a man's supernatural journey as he is forced to confront past, present, and future to earn a second chance.
According to initial reports, Rupert Grint will play Bob Cratchit, Scrooge's loyal and altruistic clerk, while Daisy Ridley will have a key role that is still being kept secret. Production is handled by Emma Watts, with Stephen Deuters, Jason Forman, Adam Bohling, and David Reid as executive producers. Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol will arrive in theaters mid-November 2026, distributed by Paramount.
