Doki Monsters: Quest, the retro RPG inspired by Pokémon is coming to Switch
Game Boy Color-style graphics and over 140 creatures to collect
Yanako RPGs and RedDeerGames have announced the release date for Doki Monsters: Quest on Switch. The title, available on PC via Steam under the name Dokimon: Quest (likely changed to avoid the wrath of You-Know-Who), will debut on Nintendo's hybrid platform on November 27th.
Doki Monsters: Quest is a turn-based RPG that closely resembles second-generation Pokémon titles, with colorful pixel art graphics that could easily have come from a Game Boy Color. Players can catch and train over 140 creatures, and take part in a story that spans between 15 and 20 hours of gameplay, featuring 9 playable characters, an 8-bit (or piano, if you prefer) soundtrack, and quality-of-life features to speed up action or receive battle hints.
