Director and actor Rob Reiner, 78, and his wife Michele Singer, 68, were found dead in their Los Angeles home. The alarm was raised around 3:30 PM local time. Firefighters on the scene could only confirm their deaths, which occurred with no signs of forced entry.

The bodies show injuries consistent with a bladed weapon. The Los Angeles Police Department's Homicide Division is investigating. Journalistic sources, including TMZ, report that the perpetrator of the double murder is believed to be the couple's son, Nick Reiner, 32, who is currently undergoing interrogation. The police have not yet officially confirmed this account, but admit that a family member is being questioned. Nick Reiner has not yet been arrested.
A historical figure in Hollywood, Rob Reiner was known as an actor in All in the Family but was especially famous for directing iconic films such as This Is Spinal Tap, When Harry Met Sally, Misery, The American President, A Few Good Men, The Princess Bride, and certainly not least Stand By Me. Married to Michele Singer since 1989, he had three children. His representatives have not released any statements.
