Diablo turns 30! The most famous Action-RPG with a bird's-eye view debuted in 1996: since then, a lot of water has passed under the bridges of Sanctuary, and rightly so, Blizzard Entertainment – now part of Microsoft with the entire Activision package – is celebrating the anniversary with an exceptional new feature.

During the spotlight broadcast on the brand's official platforms, the developers announced the imminent introduction of nothing less than a new class that will join those present in all currently supported games: we are talking about the Stregone [in English Warlock (*)].

Diablo 30th Anniversary Spotlight: The Warlock Announcement

The Warlock is a dark spellcaster who draws their magic directly from the powers of the Underworld and uses it to fight those very powers. Each incarnation of the Warlock will somehow reflect the era in which the specific game is set. This new feature is already available in Diablo II: Resurrected in the Reign of the Warlock expansion: we are therefore talking about a new class in Diablo II after 25 years since the game's debut.

(*) Many role-playing game enthusiasts, especially those of Dungeons & Dragons, will notice that Stregone and Warlock are often treated as different classes. Unfortunately, however, it is true that the two terms Sorcerer and Warlock were originally both translated into Italian with the term Stregone, so we are not in the presence of an error but rather a more or less forced choice.
