Netflix is relaunching great Scandinavian crime with Detective Hole, a series inspired by the universe of Jo Nesbø and arriving on March 26, 2026. The trailer promises a dark and intense thriller, set in a nocturnal and icy Oslo, where every street seems to hide a threat.

At its center is Harry Hole, played by Tobias Santelmann: a brilliant but deeply fragile detective, marked by alcohol, mistakes, and a past that never stops demanding its due. When a serial killer begins to strike following an unsettling ritual, Harry is drawn into an investigation that is also a personal descent into obsession and guilt.

A difficult past, a deadly investigation

Alongside him moves an ambiguous and dangerous figure: Tom Waaler (Joel Kinnaman), a corrupt police officer and silent antagonist, linked to Harry by a relationship built on tension, blackmail, and moral challenges. The conflict between the two quickly becomes the true narrative engine, even more so than the hunt for the killer.

Adapted from The Devil’s Star, the plot constructs a game of clues, betrayals, and red herrings, intertwining the investigative thriller with an uncompromising human drama. There are 9 episodes, designed for a dense, visceral, and uncompromising story.

All signs seem to lead to one certainty: Detective Hole aims to be one of the most intense noir titles in the Netflix catalog, perfect for a binge-watch.
