The Cyberpunk universe has just been expanded with the release of Edgerunners 2, the new animated series created by Japanese studio Trigger and available on Netflix. To celebrate this event, CD Projekt Red decided to surprise fans with an update for the video game Cyberpunk 2077, patch 2.5, which introduces new Edgerunners-themed content and more.

What's New in Patch 2.5

The Edgerunners update adds a new side mission, Clampdown, set before the events of Edgerunners 2. Additionally, a new 5-piece equipment set, based on the character of King, is now available. Finally, if you want to listen to the music from both anime in-game, there's a dedicated radio station for it. Regarding non-Edgerunners themed content, another mission, City Tours, is featured, which, as the name suggests, consists of a "tourist" trip through the streets of Night City.

With patch 2.5, we find over 40 Cyberware variants and a significant gameplay addition, the Double Trouble talent, which allows you to wield two pistols simultaneously. Aesthetically, there are new outfits, skins, and hairstyles for V, but most notably the ability to customize your cybernetic implants with chromes. Cross-platform mod support is also included.

You can consult the complete list of changes introduced with patch 2.5 on the official website. The new patch is available starting today, October 22, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC platforms; it will also be released on Nintendo Switch 2 soon.
