Colossal Order and Paradox Part Ways: Cities Changes Developer
The management series moves from one Finnish studio to another
Colossal Order is the Finnish software house behind the management series Cities in Motion and Cities: Skylines. Founded in 2009, this company has always been linked to the publisher Paradox Interactive, a partnership that has now come to an end: as announced on the Paradox forum, the developer and publisher are parting ways. Colossal Order will develop new projects independently, while Paradox retains control of the Cities: Skylines IP.
The Future of Cities: Skylines
Paradox Interactive has decided to assign the Cities: Skylines franchise to Iceflake Studios, a subsidiary studio also based in Finland. It will therefore develop any future installments of the series, but in the meantime, it must take care of updates for Cities: Skylines II, which we remind you has still not been released on consoles. Iceflake will begin work on the game starting in 2026. Before leaving, Colossal Order will release a few small patches for Skylines II, including the update that will introduce bicycles.
