The dream of a World Cup for Italian football has faded even before it began, alas, but that of Tsubasa Ozora (or Holly Hutton, if you prefer the local adaptation) is more alive than ever and is told to us by Bandai Namco with the new trailer for Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters. Japan, with Holly, Benji, Mark, and company, aspires to triumph in the World Youth Championship, but first, they will have to go through the Asian qualifiers.

Captain Tsubasa's Opponents

The trailer introduces the national teams Japan will have to face to triumph in the Asian Youth Championship: Uzbekistan, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, and China. Each of these teams has at least one prominent player, who obviously has no intention of losing to Tsubasa. Once the continental tournament concludes, the doors to the world championship will open for Japan.

Here, the Japanese squad will have to contend with Mexico, Uruguay, Cameroon, Sweden, Argentina, and Holland, before culminating in a legendary final against Brazil. The teams participating in the World Youth Championship also boast one or more stars, ready to ignite the rivalry with Tsubasa. Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters will be released on August 28, 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. To learn more, there's this trailer on the gameplay system.
