Bloodlines 2 Refunds PS5 Preorders, News Coming Soon
Will Paradox take a step back to meet fans' expectations?
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has had a rather troubled development. Announced in 2020, re-announced in 2023, this title was supposed to be released in late 2024, then early 2025, and then October 21, 2025 was chosen: the release is set for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG). If you're not familiar with it, we're talking about a first-person action RPG with a vampire theme, a sequel to a cult game from 2004.
Preorders Refunded and Big Changes
Despite the release being only a month and a half away, Paradox Interactive and The Chinese Room have decided to refund preorders made on PlayStation 5. This refund will become effective on September 8, and on the Sony console, it will be possible to place a new preorder before launch. The Bloodlines 2 communication team has hinted at major changes, which will be shared on September 17.
The nature of these changes has not been specified, but we can make a hypothesis. If you look at the contents of Bloodlines 2, you'll notice that the base edition of the game grants access to 4 clans, with another 2 that are indeed present on day one, but limited to the more expensive Premium edition. This choice has provoked the wrath of fans, who accused Paradox of putting fundamental content behind a paywall.
Moving the two additional clans to the base edition would help regain fan trust and would also explain the refunds, since the Premium edition would lose content. Will this really be the case? We'll find out on September 17.
Hi. We’re making adjustments and will share the details on Sept 17. Big changes take time, and we want to do this right. PS Store pre-orders will be refunded on Sept 8. You’ll be able to pre-order again before launch on Oct 21. Thanks for your patience; we’ll share more soon!
